Cuairt ARC – Aquaculture Resource Classroom

Tháinig an ARC ar cuairt chuig Rang 5 & 6 an tseachtain seo chaite agus b’é seo an chéad uair riamh dóibh turas a thabhairt ar Chill Mhantáin.  Ciallaíonn ARC Aquaculture Remote Classroom agus is seomra ranga i leoraí atá ann, lán le scáileáin idirghníomhach, fearas cinn agus cluichí grúpa le cur chuige teagmhálach.  D’fhoghlaim na páistí faoi uisceshaothrú, tairgeacht bia, agus cosaint comhshaoil, cosaint usice-bhealaí ach go háirithe.

Is tionscnamh nua, nuálach agus spreagúil é ARC, agus bhí RTÉ Raidió Sóisir i dteagmháil agus tháinig siad ar cuairt nuair a bhí Rang M. Faye le ARC.  Rinne siad taifead le cuid de na páistí mar chuid dá chlár, beidh an clár seo á craoladh acu ag 7 istoíche ar an 14 Samhain.  Bígí ag éisteacht!

The ARC came to visit our Rang 5 & 6 last week, and it was their very fist time to visit County Wicklow.  ARC stands for Aquaculture Remote Classroom, and the ARC itself is a truck-sized classroom fully equipped with interactive screen displays, headsets and hands on group activities.  The children learned about  aquaculture, food production and protecting the environment; waterways in particular.

This is such a new, innovative and exciting venture, that RTÉ Junior Radio were in contact, and visited the school while M. Faye’s class were with ARC.  They interviewed some of the children as part of their programme, and this will now be broadcast on 14 November at 7pm.  Please tune in!  Maith sibh Mícheál, Naomi, Leon agus Sophie.
